Enhancing SME contribution to economic development: A perspective from an emerging economy

Small-medium enterprises (SMEs) have a huge and not fully maximized potential to address the socio-economic challenges that emerging economies are facing. This study assessed contributions of SMEs in an economy, using ADANCO version 2.0 partial least square structural equation model (PLS-SEM). A pre-tested structured questionnaire was used collect data from 375 employees fashion, microfinance, hospitality sectors four major business regions Ghana, namely Greater Accra, Central, Western Ashanti Regions. The results reveal continue provide maximum support Gross Domestic Product (GDP), as well employ about 70 percent entire working population. recommends should receive greater attention government through appropriate tailor-made policies assist them unleash their full enhance economic growth.
